The first committee of National Technical Committee 461 on Synthetic Crystals of Standardization Administration of China (TC461) was established in September 2008, and the Second Committee was established in October 2015 (approved by the National Standardization Administration Commission (Comprehensive letter [2015] No. 75 from the office of National Standard Committee), with the Secretariat of Beijing Sinoma Synthetic Crystals Co., Ltd. , Donghai Quality Control & Inspection Center and Institute of Sinoma Synthetic Crystals. It is mainly responsible for the formulation and revision of national standards in the field of Synthetic Crystals (except medical), including the standardization of synthetic crystals materials and devices, raw materials for crystal growth, testing instruments for crystal performance, crystal processing equipment and special equipment for crystal growth, application technology specification and management.
Artificial synthetic crystal technology refers to the preparation of single crystal or polycrystalline materials by artificial synthesis, involving physics, chemistry, crystallography and material preparation technology; it is specifically divided into laser crystal, nonlinear optical crystal, semiconductor crystal, scintillation crystal, optical crystal (including sapphire crystal), piezoelectric crystal, superhard crystal, insulating crystal, and artificial synthetic crystal material processing technology. It can be widely used in modern military technologies such as guidance, ranging, imaging, optoelectronic countermeasures, laser tactical weapons, missiles, rockets and other fields, as well as satellites, manned spacecraft, communications, computers, medical treatment, nuclear physics, detection, home appliances, industrial electronic equipment and other fields.
Artificial synthetic crystal is an important part of new materials. It is a key development area supported by the national medium and long-term science and technology development plan, major key engineering technologies in the next 20 years, strategic emerging industries and the 13th five year development guide for new materials industry.
